Let’s get things started with an introduction
As you can see, my name is Joseph, and I am a Motion Designer and Illustrator. I am from Austin, Texas originally but moved to Seattle when I was 18 to attend college. I studied art with a focus in Illustration and Painting at Seattle University. I’ve added some pictures of some of my favorite pieces from that time below (as you can see I like art that doesn’t take itself too seriously). During that time I also studied videography focusing in video editing and post production working in a studios making in company commercials and animations for large tech companies like Microsoft, Nintex, and UltiPro.
I took a break from the art world shortly after college still creating here and there, primarily working as a bike messenger, and focused my creative outlet through music playing in various bands over the years. When I decided to pack my things up in December of 2020, after about 10 years in Seattle, and move back to my hometown of Austin I also decided to revisit the creative world. This past year I have been studying in the Motion Graphics program at Austin Community College and found a love for animating vector images and text. I have also been working on a hand drawn animation over the last year and half, All My Friends Are So Good at Skateboarding, where I take videos of my friends skateboarding and use a light-box to rotoscope still frames.
